A popular drugstore pharmacy chain has pulled its largest chain chain from the U. S. drugstore market after the retailer's logo and other items featured in the print ads for generic Nexium and Prevacid.
The Food and Drug Administration has found the logo of its big pharmacy chain, Giant, appeared in an ad for the drug in October that was found to contain the drug and the items the ad was printed in the print ads for Nexium.
The print ads were first posted in November, but the FDA's ruling means that the logo of the pharmacy chain has been pulled from the online pharmacy's website.
The FDA's decision means that the company has not been able to identify the print ads and other links in the print ads that appeared in the last few days.
Giant has not commented on the company's actions.

In an email to CBS News' "This Week," Giant spokesman Scott Piff said: "We are working with the FDA and the FDA's partners to ensure this and to remove this print ads that may be potentially harmful to public health. Esomeprazole magnesium is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux. It is also used to treat Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, which is caused by a deficiency of ZTP (the trihydrate component of the stomach). ZTP can lead to severe symptoms such as persistent diarrhea, heartburn, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. The symptoms of ZTP can include the following: frequent stomach and intestinal pain, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. In some instances, ZTP can be treated with a combination of medication and diet. This product should not be taken if you have ZTP. It is not recommended to take esomeprazole magnesium if you are allergic to it. Esomeprazole magnesium is a prescription drug. Ask your doctor before taking this medicine if: you have any underlying health conditions (such as heart disease, high blood pressure, or liver or kidney disease); you have or have ever had an ulcer, bleeding stomach, or bleeding colic; you have a weakened immune system; you are pregnant or are expecting a pregnancy; you are breastfeeding; or your swallowed. It is not usually possible to tell when esomeprazole magnesium will start to work. If esomeprazole magnesium is taken with a blood thinner, tell your doctor before starting this medicine. Tell your doctor if you have a history of bleeding or bruising before starting this medicine. If this medicine is taken with a protease (protease) inhibitor, avoid this medicine as it may increase the risk of bleeding or bruising.
